Xavier Grin – producteur

Né à Paris, Xavier Grin suit une scolarité à Paris, Zurich et Vevey, en Suisse. Il  étudie les arts plastiques et le cinéma, et obtient son diplôme à la HEAD-Genève. Pendant ses études, il travaille dans les coulisses de l’Opéra de Lausanne et du Théâtre Vidy à Lausanne.

Entrant dans la vie active, il a collabore en tant qu’assistant réalisateur puis directeur de production à plus de 50 longs métrages avec des réalisateurs tels que Godard, Kieslowski, Reusser, Tanner, Goretta, Mocky, Chabrol, Pawlikowski, ainsi qu’avec le chorégraphe Jean-Claude Gallotta. Il participe ensuite à l’émergence de nouveaux cinéastes suisses en supervisant les premiers films de Sabina Boss, Bettina Oberli et Petra Volpe.

Se positionnant comme producteur exécutif,  il fonde en  2000 sa propre société, P.S. Productions.  Il crée aussi la commission du film Filmlocation Riviera afin d’offrir à la région un meilleur accueil pour les productions étrangères. Dès 2006, il se concentre sur ses propres projets et devient producteur à part entière en produisant Cœur animal de Séverine Cornamusaz, qui remporte le Prix du meilleur film suisse en 2010. Depuis, il  contribue à la vitalité du cinéma suisse avec près de 30 longs métrages (fictions et documentaires), dont la plupart sont des coproductions internationales.

 

Xavier Grin – Producer

Biography

Born in Paris, Xavier Grin went to school in Paris, Zurich, and Vevey, Switzerland. He studied visual arts and cinema, graduating from HEAD-Geneva. During his studies, he worked backstage at the Lausanne Opera and The Theatre Vidy in Lausanne. 

Professionally, he has collaborated as an assistant director and production manager in more than 50 feature films with directors such as Godard, Kieslowski, Reusser, Tanner, Goretta, Mocky, Chabrol, Pawlikowski, aswell as the choreographer Jean-Claude Gallotta. He then took part in the emergence of new Swiss filmmakers, supervising the first films of Sabina Boss, Bettina Oberli, and Petra Volpe.

In 2000, he founded P.S. Productions, became an executive producer, and set up the Filmlocation Riviera film commission to provide the region with better hosting for foreign productions. From 2006, he developed his own projects and became a producer in his own right, producing Cœur animal by Séverine Cornamusaz, which won the Best Swiss Film Award in 2010. Since then, he has contributed to the vitality of Swiss cinema with almost 30 feature films (fiction and documentaries), most of them international co-productions.
